At Paul Firth Pediatrics we have sick appointments available every day.  

The earlier you call for an appointment the more likely you can choose the time that is most convenient for you.  Did you know that you can go on-line and schedule appointments here?  Ask the receptionist how to get web-enabled today.  If your child has specific symptoms you can go to this website and check for possible causes and what might indicate an emergency.  If you are unsure if your child needs to be seen call our triage nurse at 580-225-4466.  If you feel like your child needs to be urgently seen please tell the receptionist when you call.  If it is after hours and you feel like your child is too sick to wait to be seen until we are open please call our after hours provider for advice or recommendations, you can call 580-225-4466 and listen for the prompt for the on call provider.  When calling make sure you leave a message with your name, your child's name and your phone number the provider will call you back usually within 30 minutes or sooner. 

What to expect during your child's sick visit?

• When you check in on the IPAD (kiosk) you will answer a series of questions about your child's illness.
• The nurse will bring you and your child back to an exam room and check your child's temperature, weight, height and heart rate and ask more questions about what medications they are taking and the timing of their illness. The nurse may also run some tests based on your child's symptoms.
• The health care provider will then come in and ask more questions and examine your child. The provider then will identify what diagnosis they believe your child has and will give you recommendations.  Prescriptions if needed will be sent to your pharmacy electronically.  They also will recommend a time for follow up depending on your child's diagnosis.
